Inletbase Plugin for WordPress

The Inletbase plugin connects your WordPress forms to your Inletbase account and lets you add an AI chatbot to your site, all without code. It automatically detects the forms already on your site from the popular form builders, so connecting one is just pick and match. Any other form works too, using a CSS selector.

You create your forms and train your chatbots in the Inletbase dashboard. The plugin links them to your live WordPress site. If you manage many client sites, you can connect all of them to one Inletbase account and see every submission in one place.

Step 1: Install the plugin

  • In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New.
  • Search for Inletbase.
  • Click Install Now, then Activate.

You can also get it from the WordPress plugin directory, or upload the plugin ZIP from Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

Step 2: Connect your account

After activating, open the Inletbase menu in your WordPress admin sidebar. You can connect in two ways.

Connect with Inletbase (recommended)

Click Connect with Inletbase. You are sent to Inletbase to sign in and approve the connection. Once you approve, the plugin receives a new key for this site and connects on its own, so there is no key to copy or paste.

Enter an API key manually

Prefer to do it by hand? In the Inletbase dashboard, open Settings and the API Keys section, copy a key, paste it into the plugin, and click Connect API.

When you are connected, you will see a Connected badge and a sidebar with two sections: Forms and Chatbots. If your key is ever removed or revoked, the plugin notices and asks you to reconnect.

Connect a form

The plugin detects the forms already on your site and reads their fields, so connecting one is a quick pick and match. Your form keeps working exactly as before.

  1. In the sidebar, open Forms. Your Inletbase forms are listed there.
  2. Click Map to a form on the Inletbase form you want submissions delivered to.
  3. Pick the matching WordPress form from the detected list.
  4. Review the field matches. The plugin pre-fills the best matches for you, so most of the time you just confirm and click Save Integration.

The plugin automatically detects forms and fields from Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Forminator, and Elementor Pro.

For Elementor, give each form a unique Form Name so the plugin can tell your forms apart.

Using a custom or unsupported form

Built your form in Divi, in plain HTML, or in a builder the plugin does not detect yet? You can still connect it with a CSS selector.

  1. Give your form a class or ID, like .contact-form. Most builders let you add a CSS class in the form or block settings. For hand-coded HTML, add it to the <form> tag.
  2. When choosing your WordPress form, pick Custom / other form.
  3. Enter that CSS selector, then for each Inletbase field enter the HTML name of the matching input, like your-name. To read it, right-click the field on your live page, choose Inspect, and look at name="…".
  4. Click Save Integration.

You can connect the same Inletbase form to more than one WordPress form, and edit or delete any integration from the Forms list.

Your existing form still sends its own emails and saves its own entries. The plugin only sends a copy of the mapped fields to Inletbase, and your API key stays on your server, never in the browser. Submissions from detected builders are captured on your server for reliability, and if a delivery ever fails because of a network blip it is retried automatically.

After that, submissions flow into Inletbase like any other, so your email notifications, integrations, and workflows all work the same way.

Deploy a chatbot

  1. In the sidebar, open the Chatbots section.
  2. Find the chatbot you want and click Activate.

The plugin registers your WordPress domain with Inletbase for you and adds the chat widget to your site's footer. There is no code to paste and no domain to add by hand. Only one chatbot is live at a time, so to switch, Deactivate the current one and activate another.

If you use a caching plugin like WP Rocket or LiteSpeed, clear the cache so the widget appears.

You design and train the chatbot in the dashboard. See training your chatbot and customizing the chat widget. Whatever you set there, colors, avatar, welcome message, is reflected on your site automatically.

Manage or disconnect

You can disconnect any time from the bottom of the sidebar. Disconnecting removes the saved key and your saved form mappings from this site. A chatbot you activated stops loading once the plugin is disconnected.

What you need

  • An active Inletbase account.
  • A form or a trained chatbot created in your Inletbase dashboard.
