Inletbase Plugin for Framer
The Inletbase plugin connects your Framer site to your Inletbase account so you can capture form submissions and add an AI chatbot, all without code. You connect once, then manage everything from three simple tabs inside Framer: Forms, Chatbots, and Settings.
You build your forms and train your chatbots in the Inletbase dashboard. The plugin is what links them to your live Framer site.
Step 1: Install the plugin
Open the Inletbase plugin in the Framer Marketplace and install it. You can also open the Marketplace from inside Framer, search for Inletbase, and install it there. Once installed, open it any time from the Plugins menu in your Framer project.
Step 2: Connect your account
The first time you open the plugin, it asks you to connect. You have two ways to do it.
Connect with Inletbase (recommended)
- Click Connect with Inletbase.
- Inletbase opens in your browser, and the plugin shows a short verification code.
- Sign in to Inletbase and type that code on the page to approve the connection.
- The plugin picks up the connection on its own. There is nothing to copy or paste.
Typing the code is what keeps this safe. A link on its own cannot approve a connection, so only the person who started it in the plugin can finish it.
Enter an API key manually
Prefer to do it by hand? Paste a publishable API key that starts with ib_live_ into the key field and click Connect with key. You can find your key in the Inletbase dashboard under Settings, in the API Keys section.
Your connection is saved with the Framer project, so it stays connected across reloads. You can disconnect any time from the Settings tab.
Connect a form
The Forms tab lists the forms in your Inletbase account. Connecting one tells Framer where to send its submissions.
- Open the Forms tab and pick the form you want to send submissions to.
- Click Copy webhook URL.
- On the Framer canvas, select your form.
- In the right sidebar, next to Send To, click Add… and choose Webhook.
- Paste the webhook URL you copied.
The plugin also shows the field keys for that form. In Framer, set each form field's Name to match one of these keys exactly. The match is case-sensitive, so Email is not the same as email. You can tap a key in the plugin to copy it.
If a field name does not match (or a required field has no matching input), Framer shows a "Form Submission Failed" error and the entry never reaches Inletbase. Renaming your Framer fields to match the keys exactly resolves it.
Tip: leave this form's allowed domains empty in Inletbase. Framer sends webhook submissions from its own servers, not from a browser, so a domain check would block them.
After that, submissions flow into Inletbase like any other, so your email notifications, integrations, and workflows all work the same way.
Deploy a chatbot
The Chatbots tab lists the chatbots in your account and adds one to your site as a floating chat widget.
- Open the Chatbots tab and pick the chatbot you want to use.
- Click Deploy to site.
- The plugin adds the chat widget to every page of your site and marks it Live on this site.
Only one chatbot is live at a time, so deploying a different one replaces the current one. To take it down, open the chatbot and click Remove from site. The plugin also tries to add your published domain to the chatbot's allowed domains for you, so it works right away.
You design and train the chatbot in the dashboard. See training your chatbot and customizing the chat widget.
Note: you need permission to edit custom code in the Framer project to deploy or remove a chatbot. If you do not have it, the plugin lets you know.
Manage or disconnect
The Settings tab shows your connection: the organization you are connected to and your API key, partly hidden for safety. From here you can open the Inletbase dashboard or Disconnect.
Disconnecting removes the saved key from this browser. Any chatbot you already deployed stays live on the site until you remove it from the Chatbots tab.
What you need
- An active Inletbase account.
- A form or a trained chatbot created in your Inletbase dashboard.
- A Framer project with a form on the canvas (for forms) and permission to edit custom code (for chatbots).
