Email Editor
The email editor is where you write the emails Inletbase sends for you. You edit the real message: the subject line, the wording, the logo, the footer. What you see in the editor is what lands in the inbox, so there is nothing hidden and nothing to preview blind.
There are two emails for a form, and one for a chatbot:
- Notification: goes to you and your team when someone submits a form, or starts a chat.
- Auto-reply: goes back to the person who filled in your form. Forms only.
Where to find it
- Forms: open a form, go to Settings, then the Emails tab.
- Chatbots: open a chatbot, go to Settings, then Notifications.
You will see a list with one row per email. Click a row to open the editor for it.
What you can edit
- Recipients: who receives it, plus Cc and Bcc if you need them.
- Subject: the subject line, which can include answers from the submission.
- The message: a full editor with bold, italic, lists, links, images, tables, alignment, fonts and colours.
- Sender details: the name it comes from and which connected account sends it, tucked behind a toggle at the bottom since you usually set these once.
Dropping in answers with tags
Click Fields in the toolbar (or on the subject row) to insert a tag. A tag is a placeholder that gets replaced with the real value when the email sends. For example {{email}} becomes the address the visitor typed.
- Forms: one tag per field on your form, plus
{{all_fields}}for a table of everything submitted. - Chatbots: the chatbot name, the visitor's first message, and a link to the conversation.
If you add a new field to your form later, the editor tells you it is not in the email yet and offers to add it, so a new answer never quietly goes missing.
Your logo and footer are part of the message
The logo at the top and the copyright line at the bottom are ordinary content inside the email, not fixed decoration. That means you can restyle them, move them, or delete them like any other line. Nothing is added behind your back when the email sends.
If you change your mind, Reset layout rebuilds the default message from scratch. It replaces whatever is there, so it asks first.
Send yourself a test
Send test emails a copy to your own address using realistic sample answers, so you can check it in a real inbox before saving. It sends what is on your screen right now, including unsaved edits, and it always goes to you and nobody else.
The test uses the same code as the real send, so if the test looks right, the real one will too.
Turning an email off
Each email has an On/Off switch at the top right. You can also turn a notification off simply by removing every recipient. Your submissions and conversations are still saved either way, so turning an email off never loses data.
