What is a form backend?

A form backend is the service that receives a website form submission and does something useful with it. It validates the data, stores it, notifies your team, replies to the visitor and passes the record on to your other tools.

An HTML form on its own cannot do any of that. It needs somewhere to post to. That destination is normally a server you write and maintain, with a database for the records and an email service for the notifications. A hosted form backend replaces all of it with a single endpoint.

What you no longer have to build

  • A server or serverless function to receive the POST
  • A database, plus migrations and backups
  • An email provider, templates and deliverability setup
  • Spam filtering and rate limiting
  • An admin view so your team can read submissions
  • A queue or cron for anything that runs after the reply

Everything a submission needs after it arrives

Collect form submissions from all your websites in one searchable dashboard. No database to design, and nothing left unread in a shared inbox.

From form to inbox, in three steps

Step 01

Build the form

Add the fields you need, set each one's key and type, and mark the ones that are required. The live preview shows exactly what your visitors will submit, and the endpoint is created along with the form.

Step 02

Point your site at it

Change where your form submits and you are done. Your existing markup and styling stay exactly as they are, and a plain HTML form works with no JavaScript at all.

Step 03

Read the submission

It arrives in a searchable feed with every field, file and piece of metadata attached, next to a timeline of what already ran: who was notified, what the AI replied, and which record it synced to.

Your submissions, handled properly

GDPR compliant

Processed under a clear Data Processing Addendum, with right-to-erasure honoured on demand.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Stored with AES-256 at rest and carried over TLS 1.2+ in transit, on every service.

Your data stays yours

Never sold, and never used to train AI models. Export or delete any record on demand.

Two-factor authentication

Available on your account, and enforced internally on all of our administrative tooling.

Role-based access

Give each teammate only the permissions they need, with activity logs showing who handled which lead.

Trusted infrastructure

Runs on Amazon Web Services with Google Firebase for data and auth, processed in US regions.

It also answers the questions that come before the form

Form backend questions

The things people ask before they switch.

A form backend is the service that receives a website form submission and does something useful with it: validating the data, storing it, notifying your team, replying to the visitor, and passing it on to other tools. It is the part that normally requires a server, a database and an email service. A hosted form backend gives you an endpoint to post to instead.

No. Every form you create generates a CORS-enabled HTTPS endpoint. You can point a plain HTML form action at it, submit JSON from your frontend, or post from your own backend. There is nothing to deploy or maintain on your side.

Change where it submits. On WordPress you install the plugin and select the form. On Framer and other no-code builders you paste the endpoint URL with your API key appended. In code you send a POST request to the endpoint with a bearer token. Your existing markup and styling stay exactly as they are.

Yes. A standard HTML form with an action pointing at your Inletbase endpoint works with no JavaScript at all, which also means it keeps working for visitors with scripts blocked.

Yes. You can send a fixed confirmation email, or let the AI write a reply based on the submission and your own pricing and service information. Replies are sent from your connected email provider, so they come from your domain rather than a generic relay.

Yes. Form backend automations are built in, so you do not need a separate automation subscription. Build the flow once on a canvas and it runs on every submission: route by any field, send an AI reply, post a signed webhook to your own endpoint, or create and update a CRM contact. There is no per-task fee as volume grows.

Submission endpoints are rate limited and spam filtered, and you can restrict each form to specific allowed domains so only your own sites are able to post to it.

Submissions are stored encrypted, on infrastructure running on Amazon Web Services and Google Firebase. The data is yours: you can export or delete any record on demand, and it is never sold or used to train AI models.

Yes. A workspace can hold forms from any number of sites, each with its own endpoint, notifications and automations, while every submission still arrives in one shared feed.

Submission counts reset monthly and are calculated in UTC. You can see current usage in your dashboard at any time, and upgrade when you need more headroom. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.

Yes. The Starter plan is free and includes a form, an AI chatbot and a monthly submission allowance, with no credit card required. It is intended to be enough to run a real contact form on a small site.
